  • culture, society and history
  • 21st Century skills
  • semantic and didactic teaching materials, with focus on culture and society.

General Information

Teaching Methods

All teaching and counselling is in oral and written English. You will experience various teaching methods such as lectures, presentations, dialogue, exchange of experiences, group work, independent studies and a project work at the end of the module.

During the module you will work with creating didactic designs.

Conditions

In order to complete the module and obtain a certificate, the student has to:

  • attend and participate actively in class
  • present a didactic design related to a specific cultural topic for a self-chosen age group
  • produce and present a project with a topic related to history, society and culture
  • present a didactic design based on 21st Century Skills and history, society and culture, and
  • critically analyse multimodal teaching materials and how to use them in a multicultural perspective.

Tuition Fee

Activity 1

Type of Activity

Theoretical and practical module

Workload

80 instructional (face-to-face) lessons or counselling, as well as preparations for each class, group work and assignment completion.

Learning Outcome

  • Plan, carry out, evaluate and develop didactic designs with focus on cultural topics for different age groups
  • Achieve and apply knowledge about topics related to culture, society and history, as well as 21st Century Skills
  • Critically analyse multimodal teaching materials and how to use them in a multicultural perspective

Activity 2

Type of Activity

Project Work and practical didactic designs

Learning Outcome

  • Document knowledge pertaining to relevant topics related to the subject matter
  • To able to develop, plan, carry out and evaluate didactic designs related to the subject matter for different age groups
  • to be able to participate in an intercultural communication in relevant contexts
  • to be able to assess texts and learning materials critically

Examination

The examination is the presentation of a portfolio consisting of

  • a presentation a didactic design related to a specific cultural topic for a self-chosen age group
  • a presentation of a project with a topic related to history, society and culture
  • a presentation of a didactic design based on 21st Century Skills and history, society and culture, and
  • an analysis of multimodal teaching materials and how to use them in a multicultural perspective.

The student will be awarded a grade of pass or fail.
