Traineeship Occupational Therapy
Doing a clinical placement in Denmark will give you the possibilities to face new professional challenges and solutions within Occupational Therapy.
Please note that you must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in order to apply for a clinical placement.
A traineeship can be combined with the short course Health Care and Welfare in an International and Multidisciplinary Perspective or/and the short course InnoAddiction.
Occupational Therapy exchange students enrolled at one of our partner institutions only.
The student from abroad brings the wanted learning outcomes which will direct the learning activities at the clinical placement.
Each Occupational Therapy (OT) setting has a clinical teacher who is responsible for planning the exchange period and the learning activities. She/he is responsible for the final evaluation/feedback and signing the documents related to the clinical placement.
The OT student from abroad will be connected to a lecturer from the OT department at UCL and at least two meetings will be set up to guide and support the student.
Before arrival, the student will receive a scheduled programme for the whole exchange period.
UCL University College offers clinical placements at hospitals and municipal settings in the cities of Odense and Svendborg.
In order to complete the traineeship and obtain a certificate, the student has to:
- The student has to have English language skills at B2 level. Only exceptions to this requirement are students from Norway, Sweden, Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
- A week is 37 working hours: 4 days per week at the clinical placement and 1 day per week studying (reading relevant literature related to clinical experiences, and reflections, too).
- Follow the agreed timetable
- Call the traineeship host, if ill.
Not applicable for EU/EEA-students and exchange students from partner institutions, all other students must pay. In this case, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more.
The OT student will be evaluated and if the student brings evaluation/feedback certificate from home institution, it will be applied. There is no exam for traineeships.
